Description
The SJCC is looking for a dynamic individual to join our Sports and Wellness Team. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for part time hours. Candidates should have customer service experience, an outgoing personality, ability to work independently and as a team, possess problem solving skills, and be available for weekends.
Individuals needed for the following shifts: Sunday 8-12, Wednesday 4-8, Thursday 2-8, Friday 2-6
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Clean babysitting room including mats, desks, and toys with the provided cleaner.
Check toys, games, videos, and books on a regular basis throughout your shift to possible hazards including anything that could potentially cause injury.
Assume an active role with the children. Supervise and interact with them to keep them entertained and safe.
Make sure all children are signed in and out. Return sign in sheet to the Fitness Director at the end of your shift.
Protect the health and safety of children in your care.
Remain in babysitting room until all children are picked up.
Make sure the room is clean, neat, and tidy at the end of your shift.
Customer Service:
Use excellent customer service skills, establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, members and all members of the general public.
Greet each member by name and ask if they need assistance. If they do not need assistance let them be aware that you are available to assist them if something should arise.
Assist and address all members’ questions/concerns while providing outstanding customer service.
Assist children when handling toys.
Continuously walk the room engaging children. Make yourself available to the member or children when in need of assistance.
Qualifications
Minimum of 16 years old
Some experience working with young children or babies
Arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the start of your shift.
Excellent oral communication skills and tact with parents and children.
Ability to work well independently and; highly organized mature
A positive attitude, hard worker who also enjoys having fun!
