Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledger for Funds, including day-to-day cash and non-cash transactions (purchase of investments, conversions, accruals, expenses, capital calls, distributions, change in investment valuations, and exit transactions).
- Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations.
- Process wires for investments and Fund expenses.
- Perform quarterly close of the books for Funds, including all financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Partners Capital, Cash Flows, SOI).
- Prepare quarter and year-to-date individual partners’ capital allocations.
- Process capital calls, including allocation calculations and cash receipt tracking.
- Process both cash and stock distributions, including detailed distribution calculations.
- Track investment data and documentation for all investments.
- Complete quarterly tie out to cap tables.
- Update and maintain LP records; record and perform calculations for LP interest transfers.
- Answer LP inquiries and respond to confirmation requests.
- Electronically distribute financial statements, partners’ capital statements, K-1s, capital call and distribution notices to LPs.
- Other ad hoc responsibilities as appropriate for the position.
Requirements:
- 1.5 to 4 years of experience in venture capital or private equity, preferably from a Big 10 public accounting firm (audit experience preferred), a fund, or a fund administrator.
- Team-oriented and collaborative mindset – seeking someone with a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and a flexible, all-hands-on-deck approach.
- Detail-oriented with strong initiative and work ethic, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- CPA certification is a plus or actively working toward obtaining it.
