This position will report to the VP of Real Estate Development and actively partner with contract administration, project accounting and corporate accounting. Primary responsibilities include tracking, paying, and accounting for all ongoing payments for over 1,500 land leases across the country (mostly in Souther California). The role is offered on a hybrid basis with minimal in-office work requirement. This person must be based in San Diego County and be able to commute to the UTC area.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Land Lease Payment Tracking: Responsible for creating a schedule of lease payments for over 1,500 land leases with over 1,200 different landowners. This is critical and highly visible because if an annual lease payment is missed by the company the landlord can cancel the lease agreement and give the lease to a competing company to develop renewable energy assets. The accountant would be working closes with corporate Accounts Payable to approve and send out payments.
- Property Tax Payments: Many of the lease agreement require Terra-Gen to pay the property taxes on the land parcels. The accountant will be responsible for creating and maintaining a schedule of property tax payments and ensuring the payments are made on time. This person would interface with corporate accounting for any tax compliance or journal entry support.
- Purchase Order Approval and Monitoring: It is common for the Land Development division to hire consultants for perform specific projects on the land parcels (i.e. utility mapping, environmental compliance, etc.). There is a Purchase Order generate once their consulting agreements are approved. Then the consultants send in invoices to corporate AP or the Land Department for payment. This Accountant will be responsible for Robert Half is partnering with a manufacturing client in the recruiting for an organized and detail-oriented Credit and Collections Specialist to join their team. This role involves managing accounts receivable, evaluating credit applications, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments in compliance with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Accounts Receivable Management: Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all outstanding balances.
- Credit Evaluation: Assess the creditworthiness of customers by analyzing financial statements, credit history, and other relevant data. Approve or recommend appropriate credit limits based on findings.
- Collections: Initiate and manage collection efforts to recover past due accounts while maintaining positive relationships with clients. Ability to manage Credit Hold situations, including assessing and making decisions on when to implement credit holds.
- Dispute Resolution: Identify, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies or disputes related to invoices and payments by working closely with customers and internal teams.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed records of account statuses, collection efforts, credit limits, and related correspondence. Generate periodic reports for management on accounts receivable and collection activities.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounts receivable and credit processes.
- Customer Interaction: Build positive relationships with clients to facilitate resolution of payment and credit issues and enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a business related field or equivalent years of experience
- 2 years of experience in credit, collections, or accounts receivable
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting or ERP software is a plus.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data and make sound decisions based on findings.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
