We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant in the retail clothing and accessories industry, based in Secaucus, New Jersey. Responsibilities:Perform a detailed review and reconciliation of air freight charges billed to external partners, comparing them against invoices received from freight forwarders.Examine internal cost-loading files for the period of January to December 2024 to identify and address discrepancies.Analyze the distribution of freight costs across multiple purchase orders (POs), invoices, and bookings to ensure accurate allocation.Work closely with Accounting, Finance, Logistics, and Supply Chain teams to verify the accuracy of applied or absorbed air freight charges.Design or enhance tools and templates for tracking estimated versus actual freight costs, particularly for shipments involving multiple POs in one booking.Assist in creating a month-by-month freight reconciliation report for the year 2024.Deliver clear, actionable insights and documentation to identify and explain missing or incorrectly allocated costs.Support decision-making and internal reporting processes with data-driven recommendations.
