We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in the construction industry, based in Greenfield, Massachusetts. As an Accounting Clerk, your role will be crucial in maintaining financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. You will also be involved in supporting our accounts payable and receivable, billing, and other accounting operations.
Responsibilities
- Handle credit card payments and receipts, ensuring timely processing and accuracy
- Conduct account reconciliation tasks to maintain the integrity of our financial data
- Manage accounts payable (AP), ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded
- Oversee accounts receivable (AR), keeping track of all incoming payments
- Take charge of billing tasks, generating invoices and account statements
- Process credit card reconciliation, identifying and resolving any discrepancies
- Perform data entry tasks, updating and maintaining accounting databases and spreadsheets
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for various financial reporting and analysis
- Manage invoice processing, reviewing all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within the construction / contractor industry
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Proven experience in billing and invoice processing
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and data analysis
- Experience in processing credit card payments and receipts
- Proficient in credit card reconciliation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
