We are inviting applications for the role of Accounting Manager based in Long Beach, Mississippi. This role involves overseeing and managing cost accounting functions, including budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis. The successful candidate will also be responsible for inventory management, billing, and cost reporting.
Responsibilities
- Analyze cost accounting data and present detailed reports to management.
- Execute billing operations, ensuring timely processing and monitoring revenue recognition.
- Oversee and manage inventory, including conducting reconciliations, facilitating cycle counts, and monitoring periodic inventory adjustments.
- Review and approve item master additions for correct setup and unit of measure.
- Monitor and reconcile unvouchered liability relating to material receipts and accounts payable.
- Oversee payroll and shop order time submissions, reporting to management on production utilization versus overhead.
- Maintain understanding of labor calculations, including labor burden, fringe, and other overhead allocations.
- Ensure understanding and compliance with jurisdictional sales and use tax requirements for billings and purchases.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and ad-hoc reports for operational review and decision making.
- Lead the annual budget process and prepare branch budgets, including analysis of actual results against budget and preparation of present estimates on a monthly basis.
- Assist fabrication management with special accounting projects and reporting, such as budgeting, financial forecasts, inventory, and cost analysis.
- Proven proficiency in Cost Accounting
- Demonstrable experience in Budgeting
- Capability to perform accurate Forecasting
- Expertise in Variance Analysis
- Knowledge and experience in Billing procedures
- Proficiency in Financial Reporting
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA a plus
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a project based environment
