We are offering an exciting opportunity for an AR/Billing Manager to join our team in Dover, Delaware, United States. As part of this role, you will primarily oversee and manage account-related functions. This includes maintaining accurate records, managing utility connections and disconnections, processing customer credit applications, and resolving customer inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage account-related functions for utility services, property records, assessment and taxation, business license and rental permit revenue, and other customer-centric business activities.
- Accurately process customer credit applications and maintain precise customer credit records.
- Oversee the billing and collections, meter reading, online payment processing, call center, account resolution and related activities.
- Post utility rates and tariffs, maintain assessment data and prepare tax billings.
- Manage utility connections and disconnections and collection of City debts, process sheriff sales, work with City Solicitor to file and release liens for unpaid debts.
- Resolve billing disputes and collaborate with other departments to provide information and resolve complaints.
- Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable and establish and maintain internal accounting controls on billing and collection activities.
- Supervise staff including establishing standards, selecting employees, completing performance evaluations, providing training, and assigning work.
- Develop goals, objectives, and procedures for departmental activities and programs in consultation with senior management and department staff.
- Monitor and research trends, new methodology and technology, laws, rules, and City policy to develop and enhance customer service processes and activities.
- Attend or conduct staff and other meetings to exchange information; attend detail oriented seminars or conferences to improve detail oriented skills.
The ideal AR/Billing Manager will preferably have a Associates/Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration.
Other requirements for the AR/Billing Manager role include and are not limited to:
- 5-10 years of AR/Billing Manager experience
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
