We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Bookkeeper in the retail industry, located in Garden City, New York. As a Bookkeeper, you will be tasked with the efficient and accurate handling of customer credit applications, maintaining precise customer credit records, and resolving customer inquiries. You will also monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary.Responsibilities:• Verify GL coding and match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents in the process of accounts payable invoices.• Maintain comprehensive and precise vendor files.• Conduct reconciliation of monthly American Express statements.• Handle billing/invoicing processes and distribute invoices to customers in a timely manner.• Manage intercompany billing reconciliation and prepare deposits.• Record received credit cards, checks, and wires.• Monitor outstanding accounts and engage with customers for payment.• Conduct monthly reconciliation of accounts receivable aging to the general ledger and research any variances.• Resolve billing discrepancies in a timely manner.• Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and prepare monthly bank reconciliations.• Prepare monthly depreciation journal entries and prepare schedules and reports as requested.• Maintain accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable records accurately.
