Responsibilities
- Handling the annual budget preparation and execution
- Analyzing and interpreting financial data to provide forecasting
- Utilizing Microsoft Excel for budgetary calculations and analysis
- Ensuring all budgets align with approved guidelines and processes
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive budgeting records
- Reviewing financial proposals and documents for completeness and accuracy
- Collaborating with other departments to align financial plans with operational objectives
- Implementing strategies to optimize budget performance and efficiency
- Providing support and guidance on budget matters to various departments
- Continuously reviewing and updating budget processes as necessary.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Budget Analyst role or similar financial position within the public sector.
- Proficient in preparing annual budgets and managing approved budgets.
- Strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting principles and processes.
- Capable of designing and implementing budgeting strategies.
- Possession of a University degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including creating spreadsheets, using advanced formulas, and creating financial reports.
- Ability to analyze budgeting and financial data effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions based on budget analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments to achieve budgeting objectives.
- Strong communication skills to present budget reports and proposals to senior management and stakeholders.
