Our client located in Downtown Houston, TX is seeking a Category Specialist. the Category Specialist must have 3 years of experience in Category Management, Sourcing, or Procurement and must have a Bachelors Degree. The Category Specialist must have strong analytical skills, and experience with VLOOKUP's and Pivot Tables. Experience with COUPA or Power Bi is a HUGE plus. This is a direct hire opportunity paying up to 90K plus benefits working 100% in Office.

Responsibilities :

• Implement and oversee the procurement process by liaising with suppliers and managing the purchase orders.
• Leverage analytical tools such as VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables to drive efficiency in procurement activities.
• Maintain and manage category management activities to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
• Utilize COUPA or Power Bi tools to enhance procurement activities and drive strategic decision making.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure optimal service delivery.
• Ensure the effective use of Procure-to-pay processes to streamline procurement activities.
• Utilize excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Analyze and manage buying processes to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
• Ensure the effective sourcing of goods and services by implementing strategic sourcing strategies.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Purchasing role or related field and a Bachelors Degree
• Proficient understanding of buying processes and strategies
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated experience in category management
• Experience in sourcing and procurement procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI
• Familiarity with procure-to-pay processes
• Experience in using Coupa or similar procurement software
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
