Responsibilities
- Execute and develop the financial strategy in alignment with the company's overall business objectives
- Lead the finance department, manage, and mentor the team to deliver on financial goals
- Provide advice on key financial decisions and potential opportunities to the CEO and senior leadership team
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses, ensuring their accuracy and timeliness
- Monitor financial performance, report key trends, and identify opportunities for improvement
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure operational efficiency
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to boost the company's bottom line
- Evaluate financial feasibility of potential projects and provide insight into pricing strategies and margin management
- Work closely with project managers and operational teams to monitor costs on ongoing projects
- Assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, including evaluating insurance, bonding, and credit exposure
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal financial controls
- Manage relationships with financial institutions and stakeholders, providing regular financial updates to management, board members, and other stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).
- Proven experience as a CFO, VP Finance, controller or in other senior financial roles, ideally within the engineering, construction, manufacturing or other related industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in financial software systems (e.g., ERP systems), Microsoft Excel, and other business intelligence tools.
- Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, risk management, and strategic planning.
- Extensive knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial software.
- Strong understanding of construction financials, including cost control, project budgeting, and contract management.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and integrity.
