Description
We are offering a contract for a Cloud Engineer position based in Greenwich, Connecticut. This role is pivotal within our technology operations, focusing on designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity measures. Collaborating with development teams, IT operations, and senior leadership, the Cloud Engineer will ensure the secure, scalable, and efficient delivery of cloud-based services and solutions.
Responsibilities:
Creating and managing scalable, secure cloud infrastructure on the Azure platform.
Developing a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to safeguard data, applications, and infrastructure.
Guiding and supporting development and operations teams on cloud and security best practices.
Integrating security practices into the DevOps pipeline to ensure continuous security throughout the development lifecycle.
Leading incident response efforts, including investigation, mitigation, and post-incident analysis.
Conducting regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address security risks.
Utilizing automation tools and scripts to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention in cloud and security operations.
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, such as FFIEC, GDPR, and other financial industry standards.
Developing and maintaining cloud architecture and deployment strategies in line with business goals and compliance requirements.
Monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and reliability.
Requirements
A minimum of 10 years of detail oriented experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role.
Proficiency in Amazon CloudWatch, a tool for monitoring applications and resources on AWS.
Extensive experience with Amazon EC2, a web service that provides scalable compute capacity in the cloud.
Familiarity with Ansible, an open-source software provisioning, configuration management, and application-deployment tool.
Good knowledge of Atlassian Jira, a project management software that helps in tracking, managing, and reporting on work.
Experience with Auto Scaling, a method used in cloud computing that dynamically adjusts computational resources.
Proven expertise in API Development, a process of designing, building, and exposing APIs.
Mastery of Automation, the creation and application of technology to control and monitor the production of goods and services.
Proficiency in AWS Technologies, a suite of cloud computing services that offer compute power, database storage, and content delivery.
Experience with Backup Technologies, methods used to copy and archive data so it may be restored in the event of data loss.
Knowledge of Cluster Analysis, a task of grouping a set of objects in such a way that objects in the same group are more similar to each other than to those in other groups.
