Responsibilities
- Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
- Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
- Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
- Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
- Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
- Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
- Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
- Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
- Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
- Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Requirements
- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
- Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
- Earlier work involving customer invoices
- General familiarity with Month-end Close Activities
- Foundational knowledge in Monthly Account Reconciliation
- Microsoft Excel experience
- Wide ranging experience with Monthly Bank Reconciliation
- Proven knowledge of Month-end Journal Entries
- Month-end Reports experience highly desired
- Knowledge of month end closings
- Good understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
- Well-founded grasp of Month-end Financial
- Quality experience with Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Previous experience working with Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Practical knowledge of Monthly Balance Sheet
- Monthly Accruals experience
- Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
- CPA/MBA preferred
- Be detailed, flexible, and organized
- Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
