The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in technical accounting and financial reporting, coupled with significant expertise in overseeing critical accounting processes within a distribution environment. The role requires managing complex financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, leading month-end close processes, and analyzing financial performance to drive strategic decisions. This position will also oversee the management of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) operations.Core Responsibilities:Financial Reporting & Compliance: Ensure the timely preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP or IFRS, as applicable, while maintaining adherence to distribution-specific regulatory and tax requirements.Technical Accounting: Manage and resolve complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, inventory costing, and lease accounting, specific to the distribution industry.Month-End Close Oversight: Lead the month-end close process, ensuring the accurate preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis within tight deadlines.Process Management: Supervise the AP and AR functions, ensuring timely payments, detailed aging reviews, dispute resolutions, and optimized cash flow management.Financial Analysis: Perform ongoing financial analysis, including profitability, expense trends, and cost controls, to support operational efficiencies and strategic growth initiatives.Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals (AP, AR, and others), fostering a transparent and collaborative work environment focused on process improvement.Internal Controls & Audits: Conduct regular audits of financial processes to guarantee adherence to internal controls and ensure compliance with SOX, if applicable.
