We are looking for a Controller in the construction industry. This role is based in Waite Park, Minnesota, and will involve managing and reviewing financial operations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and providing robust financial reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure the company's financials are maintained in compliance with US GAAP.
• Lead and execute the month-end close process activities, which may include revenue recognition, WIP analysis, intercompany accounting, and monthly/quarterly reporting.
• Perform actual versus budget and prior year trending analysis for the companies and departments monthly.
• Challenge operational teams to drive cost base improvements through cost analysis of products, equipment, and employees.
• Support the preparation of forecasting and budgeting activities.
• Monitor and forecast cash needs on an ongoing basis.
• Manage and review all monthly A/R, A/P, and general ledgers for each division.
• Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits.
• Automate reports and processes to improve the accounting department.
• Determine breakeven points for each department.
Skills:
• Knowledge of accounting software systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Familiarity with accounting functions
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Understanding of budget processes
• Ability to perform ad hoc financial analysis
• Experience analyzing financial statements
• Knowledge of financial reporting.• Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role, preferably within the Construction/Contractor industry
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is essential
• Demonstrated ability in managing Accounting Functions
• Proficient in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
