As the Controller, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of fiscal planning, accounting, financial compliance, treasury management, and much more. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance, and driving the financial success of the organization.

What You'll Do:

💼 Tax and Compliance Mastery: Lead the way in completing federal, state, and local tax returns with accuracy, using your deep knowledge of tax codes and regulations.

💼 Fiscal Policy Champion: Develop and interpret fiscal policies and procedures, ensuring they align with federal, state, and university regulations.

💼 Audit Oversight: Collaborate with external auditors to oversee annual audits, tax returns, and reviews, ensuring flawless execution.

💼 Accounts Payable Leadership: Manage Accounts Payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, petty cash, employee expenses, and purchase orders.

💼 Cash Flow & Liquidity Forecasting: Dive into cash and liquidity forecasting, developing multi-year projections and ensuring financial stability.

💼 Banking Relationships: Take charge of banking relationships, including financial services, and strategically manage cash flow.

💼 Endowment & Investments Oversight: Lead the operational and tactical activities of the University Endowment and other key investments.

💼 Collaborative Leadership: Work with both internal and external stakeholders to optimize resources, deliver exceptional service, and drive financial success.

💼 Team Management: Lead a talented team, including the Assistant Controller and Accounts Payable staff, while supporting the integration of the University ERP (Workday).

What We’re Looking For:

• ✅ 5 Years of Experience: You've got a solid track record in a Controller role or a similar position.
• ✅ Accounting Software Proficiency: You’re comfortable using various accounting software systems to streamline processes and ensure accuracy.
• ✅ Expert Understanding of Accounting Functions: Your knowledge of accounting principles is second to none!
• ✅ Audit Expertise: You've got hands-on experience with audits and understand how to maintain compliance with complex financial regulations.
• ✅ Budget Process Know-How: You’re skilled in developing, implementing, and overseeing budgets with a focus on maximizing financial efficiency.
• ✅ Bonus Points: Experience with Workday or in Higher Education environments is a plus!
