We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Sr. Controls / Automation Engineer in Cleveland, MS 38732. The individual will be part of an innovative team in the automation and manufacturing industry. The role will involve dealing with cutting-edge technology in a fully onsite environment, focusing primarily on new business startups.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design/modify precision assembly and/or manufacturing equipment.
- Prepare estimates for various tasks and projects.
- Drive Continuous Improvement Activities.
- Interface with plant and corporate groups as well as contractors and vendors.
- Manage start-up, debug, and commission of new manufacturing processes.
- Provide higher-level troubleshooting and problem solving for various systems / issues pertaining to automated assembly equipment and systems.
- Provide technical support/troubleshooting for new device production line.
- Demonstrate proactive communication and problem solving.
- Responsible for adhering to FDA Design Control standards at all times.
- Responsible for adhering to and maintaining all department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), forms, and log books.
- Generate technical documents, reports, equipment specifications, and interpret technical drawings/schematics
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience required (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Computer degrees are preferred)
- 2 year experience with programming/troubleshooting experience with automation controls, automated assembly, control systems, PLCs, HMIs, servos, and vision inspection systems is required.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs & HMIs is required.
- 2 years Engineering / Manufacturing experience. FDA manufacturing preferred.
- Other preferred experience would include: Magnemotion conveyor system, ultrasonic welding, Staubli robots, Cognex and Keyence vision systems.
- Design software experience (like AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.) is preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing skills and experience are a plus..
