We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our finance team in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain standard costing methodologies for products, ensuring alignment with manufacturing processes.
- Perform detailed variance analysis, identifying trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with operations and production teams to gather data for accurate costing and budgeting.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of COGS reports to provide insights into production efficiency and cost control.
- Support month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Review and analyze inventory levels, ensuring proper valuation and reporting in compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare and present reports and findings to management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for cost optimization.
- Assist in the development and implementation of cost control measures and best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cost accounting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of standard cost and variance analysis, with a focus on COGS.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with [insert specific software if applicable] is a plus.
