We are seeking an Assistant or a Director of Financial Aid to join our client's team. The role is based in Reading, Pennsylvania, and involves managing financial aid programs while adhering to federal, state, and institutional regulations. The selected candidate will handle customer accounts, process applications, and respond to inquiries.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee and manage federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, including grants, loans, work-study, and scholarships.
- Advise students and families about financial aid options, application procedures, and financial literacy.
- Manage the verification process, including reviewing documentation, making corrections, and updating student records.
- Work with Admissions, Student Accounts, and other campus offices to ensure comprehensive student support.
- Use financial aid software to process aid awards and maintain records.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures.
- Offer personalized financial aid package counseling to enhance affordability and access.
- Help students understand their financial aid awards and the impact of changes in enrollment, dependency status, or family financial circumstances.
- Aid in the creation and execution of policies and procedures to boost efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay informed on federal and state regulations and best practices through training and detail-oriented development.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance, Education, or Student Affairs).
- Minimum of 3 years (Assistant Director) or 5 years (Associate Director) of experience in financial aid administration.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations ( Title IV, FAFSA processing, verification, loan programs, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in financial aid packaging and student counseling.
- Experience with financial aid management systems (e.g., Ellucian Colleague, Banner, PowerFAIDS, or similar).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a commitment to student success.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
