Position Overview:
We are seeking a Director of Business Systems Analysis to lead a team of 7 Business Systems Analysts (BSAs) and act as the functional and IT liaison for critical systems like PeopleSoft, Colleague, or Banner (Ellucian). This role plays an essential part in overseeing key processes across enrollment, payment, financial aid, and services functions within higher education. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional management skills, experience in higher education settings, and the ability to work with strong personalities, specifically those transitioning from banking and financial services industries.

This role plays an essential part in overseeing key processes across enrollment, payment, financial aid, and services functions within higher education. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional management skills, experience in higher education settings, and the ability to work with strong personalities, specifically those transitioning from banking and financial services industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management:
- Lead and provide direction for 7 direct reports, all BSAs, ensuring team alignment toward organizational goals.
- Oversee staff with strong personalities and diverse backgrounds, including functional users from financials, enrollment services, instructional services, and awarding aid.
- Mentor team members and help develop transferable skills relevant to higher education.
- Process Management:
- Provide expertise in systems like PeopleSoft, Colleague, or Banner (Ellucian) to ensure seamless integration and optimization.
- Collaborate with functional users and IT stakeholders to solve complex problems and drive improvements.
- Operational Oversight:
- Ensure systems streamline critical processes in enrollment, payment, and financial aid.
- Facilitate communication between internal users (e.g., H& R Block or banking-oriented staff) and IT teams to achieve shared objectives.
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop strategies to retain talent, reduce turnover, and optimize BSA team operations.
- Be an advocate for higher education systems and solutions, ensuring compliance and consistent functionality.
- Hiring and Development:
- Drive hiring efforts to close the longstanding vacancy in this role for nearly two years. Collaborate with HR and recruitment teams to identify candidates with relevant experience.
- Prefer Contract-to-Hire (CTH) candidates.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelor's degree.
- Experience:Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience, ideally in higher education settings involving PeopleSoft, Colleague, or Banner systems.
- Skills:
- Strong management and leadership skills overseeing teams with diverse personalities and strong industry backgrounds (e.g., financial services).
- Higher education experience is required.
- Hands-on expertise in enterprise systems like PeopleSoft, Colleague, or Banner.
- Functional and IT integration experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with systems that facilitate enrollment, payment, financial aid, and student services.
- Background in bridging functional and technical gaps within complex organizational structures.
