About the Role:
We are seeking a highly strategic and hands-on Director of SEO to lead our organic search efforts across multiple websites. This individual will serve as the product owner for organic search, ensuring the technical foundation, content strategy, and promotional efforts align with business goals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SEO best practices, technical SEO, content optimization, and search performance analytics, as well as the ability to execute and oversee implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and own the overarching SEO strategy across multiple business websites, aligning with overall marketing and business objectives.
- Technical SEO Assessment & Execution: Conduct technical audits to ensure proper website architecture, indexing, crawlability, and site speed optimization.
- Content Optimization: Identify opportunities for on-page improvements, content refreshes, and keyword optimizations to enhance organic visibility.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with development, content, and marketing teams to implement SEO initiatives and integrate best practices.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Google Search Console, Ahrefs) to track performance, identify trends, and drive recommendations.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Set KPIs, analyze organic traffic trends, and create reports to communicate impact and opportunities.
- SEO Execution & Management: Not only define the strategy but ensure successful execution by managing internal and external resources.
- Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitors’ SEO efforts and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Keep up to date with search engine algorithms, emerging SEO trends, and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5 years of hands-on SEO experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to define and execute SEO strategies that drive measurable business impact.
- Strong expertise in technical SEO, including website audits, crawlability, structured data, and site speed optimizations.
- Experience working with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Shopify, HubSpot) and familiarity with website architecture best practices.
- Proficiency in SEO tools such as SEMrush, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and analytics platforms.
- Ability to translate SEO insights into actionable recommendations for content teams and developers.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage execution and implementation of SEO initiatives.
- Excellent analytical skills, with experience using data to inform strategies and measure success.
