Olivia Quinlan from Robert Half is hiring for a Firmware Engineer in the Albany, New York area. The individual will be instrumental in developing, testing, and maintaining firmware code for embedded systems. This role also involves cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and issue resolution pertaining to firmware.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of firmware code for embedded systems
Thoroughly test firmware code to ensure optimal functionality
Maintain firmware code, ensuring it is updated and accurate
Collaborate with internal teams across different levels to ensure seamless operations
Apply problem-solving skills to improve existing products and innovate new ones
Analyze code and review hardware schematics to identify and resolve firmware issues
Follow best practices for documentation to ensure clarity and ease of understanding
Use GitHub for version control in a proficient manner
Apply expertise in reading and understanding schematics
Leverage knowledge of Microcontroller, Bare metal, and RTOS in firmware development
Use Embedded C, ARM architecture, and Microchip in firmware development tasks.
Minimum of 3 years experience as a Firmware Engineer or in a similar role.Proficiency in Embedded C is required.
Proven experience in Firmware Development.
Strong ability to produce clear and concise Documentation.
Familiarity with MicroController programming.
Experience working with Bare metal is necessary.
Understanding and experience with RTOS.
Knowledge of ARM architecture is required.
Proficiency in Microchip programming.
Familiarity with version control systems, preferably GitHub.
Ability to read and understand schematics.
