We are searching for a GIS Analyst to join our team in ANNAPOLIS, Maryland. As a GIS Analyst, you will be crucial in the maintenance and troubleshooting of our permitting system. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities :
- Identify and rectify restrictions within the permitting system
- Ensure system functionality, particularly concerning address and unit entries
- Utilize ArcGIS Server to manage and analyze geographical data
- Facilitate the successful progression of system users by ensuring necessary data is present
- Conduct regular system maintenance to ensure optimal performance
- Manage and update a database of addresses as required
- Provide system users with necessary support and guidance
- Collaborate with team members to identify and implement system improvements.
- Proficient in the use of ArcGIS Server
- Bachelor's degree in Geographical Information Systems or a related field
- Proven experience as a GIS Analyst or similar role
- Proficient understanding of spatial analysis methods and concepts
- Ability to interpret, analyze and integrate spatial data
- Strong knowledge in cartography and geographical information systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Proficient in data collection and data analysis
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Knowledge of programming languages like Python or SQL is a plus
- Familiarity with remote sensing or GPS data collection is desirable.
