We are in the process of recruiting a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our manufacturing team near Cleveland, Tennessee. In this role, you will be tasked with implementing and managing comprehensive environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs, conducting regular inspections and audits, and leading incident investigations. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Establish and manage comprehensive EHS policies and programs to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Regularly conduct EHS inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and suggest corrective actions.
- Lead investigations into incidents to determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and track follow-ups to completion.
- Maintain detailed records of safety protocols, training programs, and efforts to comply with regulations.
- Develop and deliver safety training sessions to employees at all levels, focusing on workplace safety, injury prevention, and environmental best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote sustainable practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure appropriate handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with regulations.
- Act as the primary contact for EHS-related matters, including regulatory agencies and third-party auditors.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and changes in EHS regulations to recommend and drive process improvements.
- Provide exceptional customer service and manage customer credit applications and records efficiently and accurately.
- Proficiency in Ada is essential for this role
- Familiarity with EXPRESS is highly desirable
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and procedures is required
- Must be comfortable using GMail for detail oriented communication
- Experience with Management Systems, preferably in a manufacturing setting
- Prior experience in Auditing, specifically related to health and safety
- Must understand and be able to enforce Compliance regulations
- Experience in the Construction industry is a plus
- Ability to implement Corrective Actions in response to health and safety incidents
- Excellent Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels
