We are seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator in the manufacturing industry, located in Coldwater, Michigan. As a Health and Safety Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety of our sanitation team by overseeing processes, pinpointing and rectifying unsafe actions, and contributing to safety enhancements. This role offers a 4-6-month contract with the POSSIBILITY of a permanent employment opportunity. Third shift, 10pm-6pm, M-F, 100% onsite. MUST BE BILINGUAL IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH.

Responsibilities
- Work together with the sanitation team leaders and safety specialists to devise and execute new safety protocols
- Vigilantly oversee sanitation processes to pinpoint and rectify unsafe conditions or behaviors
- Utilize Word, Outlook, and Excel for basic documentation of observations, incidents, and communications
- Act as a proactive presence on the plant floor, engaging employees in discussions about safety practices
- Provide concise, accurate summaries of events and safety data to supervisors
- Halt unsafe actions immediately and guide employees on corrective measures
- Establish a good relationship with sanitation team members
- Collaborate with other leaders to develop actionable safety plans and reinforce compliance
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Commitment to a third shift schedule, 10pm-6am
- Familiarity with FMCSA regulations and guidelines
- Proficient in using Outlook for detail-oriented communication
- Experience in implementing and maintaining a Management System
- Demonstrated skills in conducting safety audits and inspections
- Proven track record in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Previous experience in a construction environment is a plus
- Ability to implement corrective action plans in response to safety incidents
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to handle queries and complaints effectively and with detail orientation
