Human Resources (HR) Assistant

Salary: $19.00 to $22.00 hourly

Description

We are actively seeking a Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team located in ROCKAWAY BEACH, New York. As an HR Assistant, your role will focus on various HR and Payroll related tasks, utilizing our payroll system, Paychex, to maintain and update employee records. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Accurately compile and update employee records using Paychex
• Process and document various employee actions such as time off requests, absences, leaves, layoffs, suspensions, and terminations
• Facilitate the recruitment process by identifying potential candidates, scheduling and conducting interviews, and coordinating new employee orientations and training
• Prepare and manage paperwork for new union and welfare fund members
• Handle employee requests, complaints, grievance procedures, rules, and regulations with professionalism and timeliness
• Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution of their queries
• Assist with the daily operations of the HR department
• Manage employee identification badges, key fobs, lockers, and uniforms
• Provide data requests support to other departments such as HR, Tax, Union Welfare Fund, etc.
  
  
  

Requirements

• The candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in a role similar to a Human Resources Assistant.
• Proficient knowledge and experience in using Paychex is a crucial requirement for this role.
• Experience in data reporting is vital for analyzing and interpreting HR data effectively.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for various administrative tasks is required.
