The successful candidate will be involved in the healthcare industry, focusing on processing statements of medical necessity and securing prior authorizations for growth hormone therapies. This role is crucial in managing approvals, denials, and appeals for submitted authorizations, and ensuring accurate record maintenance.Responsibilities• Facilitating communication with families about the status of authorizations, ensuring the delivery of information, both positive and challenging, is done with sensitivity and professionalism.• Collaborating with the team and stepping in to assist when necessary to ensure a seamless workflow.• Handling around 20-30 calls per day and maintaining email correspondence with insurance providers, families, and medical teams.• Navigating complex authorization processes and providing guidance and support to families and medical staff.• Managing significant amounts of paperwork and ensuring records are accurately maintained.• Processing statements of medical necessity by contacting insurance providers directly.• Managing approvals, denials, and appeals for submitted authorizations, and resolving issues as they arise.• Utilizing technical proficiency in medical billing software, insurance portals, and Microsoft Office Suite to perform tasks efficiently. • Leveraging strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage high volumes of paperwork, online submissions, and phone/email communication.
