The Leave Coordinator will be an integral part of our team, providing vital human resource services and acting as a resource for staff members. This role will involve a range of responsibilities including technical and administrative support for HR, maintaining our human resource information system, and assisting in determining candidate/employee suitability. Responsibilities:• Serve as an HR resource, offering guidance and recommendations on best practices, policies, and procedures• Support managers and their teams, providing knowledge and skills necessary for effective HR practices• Assist in the recruitment process, collaborating with managers to identify and address organizational needs• Administer employee leave in accordance with state and federal laws, ensuring compliance and reducing agency risk• Oversee the interactive process for ADA Accommodations requests, providing expertise and ensuring adherence to regulations• Investigate employee-performance issues, communicating HR policies and procedures clearly to staff members• Maintain an understanding of regulations related to the Family and Medical Leave Act, Oregon Family Medical Leave Act, Paid Leave Oregon, Americans with Disabilities Act, and Equal Employment Opportunity laws• Develop and maintain HR electronic and paper forms, databases, and spreadsheet applications as necessary• Coordinate with fiscal services staff regarding payroll changes and generate personnel action forms• Process background checks according to state law and agency policy, determining suitability for permanent position or promotion.
