Our client, a leading aircraft charter company that provides passenger aircraft charters worldwide, is seeking a Legal Advisor to oversee it’s US Division. The ideal candidate will be a NY Barred Attorney (candidates who hold a JD will also be considered) with extensive contract reviewing and negotiating experience. You will be working closely with an international team of legal professionals in the UK and India as well as brokers.
2-4 weeks of training in London Headquarters is required at start of role (all expenses paid)
Daily Responsibilities :
Reviewing, negotiating and finalizing commercial contracts, terms & conditions, non-disclosure agreements and other legal documents, such as agreements with our clients and airlines, and drafting any necessary policies and procedures;
Responding to any incoming enquiries to our shared Legal mailbox and contract management system, primarily in the Americas but also across the global business;
Supporting the Legal team on company secretarial matters across the global business;
Advising on data privacy matters, reviewing data processing agreements and privacy policies;
Managing litigation matters, including reporting on litigation matters to the senior management team;
Supporting on any employment matters as required by the business;
Liaising with the wider business and our Bids and Compliance teams as required.
Qualifications :
Admitted to the NYS Bar (or another state); will consider candidates who hold a JD but did not pass the bar
2 years of contract drafting and negotiation experience. Specifically, with MSAs, NDAs, Supplier Agreements, etc.
Strong written and oral communication skills (including phone etiquette)
An ability to work independently and to collaborate with team members, including other attorneys, sales staff, administrative staff and upper management
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
Excellent communicator to all organization seniority levels
Ability to thrive working under pressure
A creative, problem-solving mindset, with demonstrated ability to turn ideas into products or actions
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Previous exposure to the sales bids process
Previous exposure to using a contract management system or other legal software
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal advisory role within the airline industry
Proficiency in using 3M, Adobe Acrobat, and ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode
Familiarity with Careerbuilder and Case Management Software
Demonstrated ability in briefing and claim administration
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience in drafting contracts
Knowledge of immigration law relevant to the airline industry
Holds a Juris Doctor degree or equivalent qualification in law
