We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join our team in Alton, Illinois. In this role, you will primarily be tasked with supporting attorneys managing estate and probate litigation matters. You will be in constant communication with clients, assisting them through various stages of probate proceedings, and coordinating hearings and mediations.
Responsibilities:
• Engage in regular communication with clients, updating them on their legal cases in a timely manner
• Evaluate and review cases in preparation for attorney review and filing
• Assist in managing the intake system in collaboration with Intake Specialists
• Oversee case workflow in our electronic case management system
• Draft and distribute correspondence as needed
• Provide general assistance to attorneys and senior paralegals
• Document all events and communications consistently and properly
• Submit invoices in accordance with firm policy
• Manage deadlines for SOLs and other filings under attorney supervision
• Utilize case management software and other tech tools proficiently
• Administer calendar management and coordinate hearings and mediations
• Maintain client relations and communicate effectively
• Draft legal documents and manage e-filing processes
• Handle probate & estate administration and probate litigation.• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Legal Assistant
• Proficient in using Case Management Software and SmartAdvocate
• Strong skills in Calendar Management
• Excellent abilities in maintaining Client Relations
• Possesses strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Experienced in handling Probate, Probate & Estate Administration, Probate Law, and Probate Litigation
• Demonstrated ability to draft legal documents
• Proficient in e-File system usage
