Growing law firm has an immediate opening for a Paralegal / Legal Assistant in the Salinas, CA office! As a Litigation Paralegal, your primary focus will be supporting plaintiff-side personal injury matters, and you will also be involved with pre-litigation and litigation. As the sole support for one attorney, you'll assist with all phases of the litigation lifecycle including drafting legal documents, discovery management, and trial preparation. This position requires full-time on-site work in Salinas, CA. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience in a litigation paralegal or legal assistant capacity; prior personal injury experience is highly preferred but not required. Responsibilities:• Assist with the management of civil litigation cases related to personal injury• Understand and apply California rules and procedures, local rules, and filings• Utilize case management software to keep track of all cases• Handle calendar management effectively, ensuring all deadlines are met• Draft legal documents and prepare for discovery• File court documents as per the required standards• Handle pre-litigation processes and procedures• Train on the organization's process and start working on cases independently• Assist with trial preparation efforts
