The IT Manager leads a high-performing team responsible for maintaining and enhancing Workday Financials while partnering closely with Finance, HR, and IT leadership. The manager ensures system integrity, performance, and business continuity, while driving data-informed decision-making and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the daily operations, optimization, and maintenance of Workday Financials modules (e.g., General Ledger, AP/AR, Fixed Assets, Procurement, Expenses).
- Manage a team of technical professionals to deliver reliable and scalable solutions that support business objectives.
- Ensure efficient handling of production issues, manage SLAs, and recommend architectural or process improvements.
- Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to design and implement enhancements aligned with compliance (SOX, GAAP, IFRS) and reporting needs.
- Support all lifecycle activities: design, development, testing, deployment, minor enhancements, upgrades, and production support.
- Provide strategic guidance to optimize business operations via automation, integration, and process improvements.
- Oversee system configuration and integration projects using tools like EIB, Workday Studio, and Workday APIs.
- Align technical resources and project priorities with long-term operational goals and corporate standards.
- Partner with external vendors and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Lead personnel activities: hiring, onboarding, mentoring, performance evaluations, and skill development.
- Participate in rotational on-call support for production systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline or equivalent experience.
- 8 years of experience with enterprise financial systems; 5 years hands-on with Workday Financials.
- 5 years of team leadership experience in a fast-paced, production-focused IT environment.
- Proven track record managing enterprise Workday Financials initiatives, upgrades, and operational support.
- Deep knowledge of core Workday Financials modules and tools: FDM, Workday Studio, EIB, and reporting.
- Understanding of system security models, compliance requirements (SOX, GAAP), and Workday release cycles.
- Experience with Adaptive Planning, Power BI, or Tableau (preferred but not required).
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills across IT, Finance, HR, and external partners.
- Experience in Agile methodologies, project scoping, resource planning, and vendor management.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-impact solutions on schedule.
- Passion for keeping financial systems running smoothly in production, with a focus on reliability and end-user support.
- Skilled in identifying bottlenecks, troubleshooting issues, and automating processes to drive business efficiency.
- Ability to drive improvements in operational processes and team performance through mentorship and continuous learning.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable translating technical challenges into actionable business strategies.
- Highly organized with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process optimization.
- Experience with global financial operations, including multi-currency and multi-entity environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Knowledge of emerging trends in enterprise financial technology.
