Manufacturing Controller

Robert Half has partnered with small manufacturing company in the Baltimore metro area to hire it's next Controller. To succeed in this role, you will need to be comfortable being in a very hands-on role, essentially operating as a sole accountant with a small team to support accounting operations. You will need to build effective relationships with the other members of this small office to operate efficiently and get the job done! We are looking for someone with a strong attention to detail and process improvement mentality to help make a difference! This Controller will be responsible for the accumulation and preparation of financial data and reporting for financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, cash flow management, inventory and cycle counts, working with operations, and more. You will succeed in this position if you can lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability.

What you get to do every day:

- Manage monthly financial statement preparation and account reconciliations

- Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

- Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

- Responsible for handling and overseeing accounting department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

- Work closely with leadership to ensure efficient and successful company-wide operations

- Ad hoc projects...and more!

Qualifications:

- BA/BS in Accounting or other business-related field preferred (will consider experience over degree if you have been a prior Manufacturing Controller)

- 8 years of accounting experience

- Manufacturing industry experience and accounting knowledge REQUIRED
