We are partnering with a well-known healthcare client to find a highly skilled Remote Medical Billing/AR Specialist to assist with an important AR backlog cleanup project. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong experience in medical billing, collections, and AR management. Infusion experience is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of commercial and government collections and proven success in denials management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and resolve outstanding accounts receivable (AR) backlog for our healthcare client.
- Process medical billing for commercial and government insurance (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid).
- Handle collections for both commercial insurance companies and government payers.
- Review, track, and resolve denied claims, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up.
- Maintain expertise in billing codes, insurance regulations, and reimbursement guidelines.
- Engage directly with payers to resolve payment issues and discrepancies.
- Conduct AR aging analysis to prioritize follow-up efforts and ensure timely resolution.
- Identify and escalate complex billing issues or disputes to management.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve billing efficiency.
- At least 5 years of recent experience in medical billing and collections.
- Strong background in commercial and government collections is essential.
- Demonstrated expertise in denials management and follow-up processes.
- Proven knowledge of commercial insurance billing practices.
- Experience with medical billing across various specialties, with infusion billing experience a plus.
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize workloads.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) for effective payer interactions.
- Ability to work independently and manage high-volume tasks efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in infusion billing (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with various billing software and AR management tools.
