We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Data Entry Clerk in Bay City, Michigan. The role is situated within the healthcare industry and requires meticulous data management and customer service skills. The selected candidate will be tasked with handling an array of responsibilities related to health information management and electronic medical records.
Responsibilities
• Compile, track, and reconcile patient medical records from various departments or nursing units post patient discharge.
• Serve as a resource for general and medical record information, responding to requests received via phone, email, fax, or in person.
• Retrieve records as per request for patient care, studies, committees, and other requests, collaborating with other departments as necessary.
• Prepare, assemble, scan, index, and file records for document storage and/or imaging in accordance with facility guidelines.
• Analyze patient charts for physician deficiencies as per facility guidelines and bylaws, assisting with physician chart completion and suspension processes.
• Communicate with Providers regarding their incomplete records and assist with distribution of reports, letters, and statistics related to delinquent medical records.
• Support record completion, coding, release of information, and overall management and maintenance of the legal health record through the EMR (electronic medical records) system.
• Perform data collection and submission of information for birth certificate filing.
• Use CRM for processing customer applications and maintaining accurate customer records.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on Cerner Technologies and other billing functions.• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in Cerner Technologies
• Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
• Knowledge of billing functions within the medical field
• Familiarity with claim administration processes
• Proficient in the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Ability to handle, organize, and maintain medical records effectively
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
• Strong data entry skills with an emphasis on accuracy.
