We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Records Specialist at our healthcare organization based in Dayton, Ohio. The Medical Records Clerk will be instrumental in managing and organizing confidential medical documents, ensuring they are properly scanned and uploaded into the EMR system, and maintaining patient files.
Responsibilities
- Handle confidential medical documents with utmost care and accuracy
- Scan and upload patient forms into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
- Manage the electronic document management process efficiently
- Review and pull-out hard copies from patient files when required
- Stay organized and detail-oriented in managing electronic and hardcopy patient files
- Work independently and maintain a fast pace to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Applicant must possess a high school diploma or equivalent education.
- Previous experience working as a Medical Records Clerk is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in scanning documents and maintaining electronic document management systems is required.
- Familiarity with medical terminology will be considered an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Excellent computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are necessary.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion is mandatory.
- Must demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with colleagues, medical professionals, and patients.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of the non-profit sector and commitment to the organization's mission and values.
