We are offering a contract to permanent opportunity for a Patient Access Specialist in Nashua, New Hampshire. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will be responsible for the admission process for patients, maintaining regulatory compliance, and providing excellent customer service. This role is crucial to the functioning of our medical facility and requires someone with strong administrative skills.
Responsibilities :
- Accurately assign Medical Record Numbers (MRNs) and complete medical necessity checks
- Provide clear patient instructions, collect insurance details, and process physician orders
- Ensure excellent customer service in all interactions, demonstrating compassion where necessary
- Fulfill pre-registration tasks for patient accounts, including inbound and outbound calling to gather demographic, insurance, and other patient information
- Discuss and obtain necessary signatures on general consent for treatment forms from patients, guardians, or legal representatives
- Distribute patient education documents as required, including consent forms and messages from Medicare or Tricare
- Review eligibility responses in our insurance verification system, select the appropriate insurance plan code, and input benefit data to aid in billing processes
- Handle point of service collections and past due balances, offering payment plan options when necessary.
- High School Diploma / GED Required
- No prior work experience is required for this role.
- Exceptional Customer Service skills are a must.
- Previous Administrative experience is highly valuable
- Prior experience in Collections is considered beneficial.
- Proficiency in Data Entry is necessary.
- CRCR Certification (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative) Required within 6 months of hire (Company Paid)
