We are offering a contract for a permanent position as a Payroll & Benefits Specialist in Holland, Michigan. This role is in the ice cream industry and involves the day-to-day management of payroll and benefits functions, requiring a high degree of attention to detail and a focus on employee service. The role will be office-based and involves interaction with various team members and managers.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of weekly and bi-weekly payroll for multiple pay groups
• Handle garnishments and ensure appropriate deductions from employee paychecks
• Oversee the administration of 401k plans, including funding and audit processes
• Conduct orientations for new employees and guide them through the benefits enrollment process
• Manage life events and changes in employee status, updating systems as necessary
• Use UKG for payroll and benefits management tasks
• Review and approve timesheets, communicating with managers and employees regarding corrections
• Handle annual enrollment and manage new hires and terminations in the system
• Prepare and distribute W2 forms to employees
• Administer FMLA and short-term disability/long-term disability benefits
• Utilize Excel for payroll audits, including the use of vlookups and pivot tables.
• Experience in using UKG Pro and UKG Ready software is a plus
• Experience in processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll
• Knowledge in handling payroll garnishments
• Capability to conduct orientations for new team members
• Skilled in reviewing timesheets for payroll processing
• Familiarity with 401k and RRSP administration
• Experience in conducting annual enrollment

• Understanding of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
• Ability to manage short term and long term disability benefits
• Experience in conducting orientations for new team members
Salary : $35 - $45
