We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in Portage, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be responsible for handling various payroll and administrative tasks, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, and providing support to our human resources team.
Responsibilities :
- Accurately preparing biweekly payroll for employees and ensuring compliance with state, federal, and collective bargaining agreement laws
- Reviewing and adjusting employee timecards and schedules as needed for accuracy and completeness
- Managing paid time off requests from initiation to approval, including processing PTO cash outs when applicable
- Tracking and reporting on employee absenteeism and maintaining related records
- Inputting new employee transactions, status changes, and terminations into the system
- Providing administrative support for benefits, including enrollment, changes, and terminations
- Assisting with employee disability, FMLA, and workers' compensation leaves / claims and coordinating return-to-work efforts
- Assisting with audits and resolving any discrepancies found
- Troubleshooting time clock issues and providing solutions
- Coordinating and assisting with onboarding new employees, including paperwork and training
- Maintaining employee personnel files and ensuring the integrity of documents
- Ordering and maintaining office supplies and uniforms, and providing backup for front desk operations
- Performing basic bookkeeping and updating the accounting system, and serving as a backup for accounting functions
- Assisting with reference checks and employment verifications
- Preparing and analyzing payroll information and reports
- Communicating effectively with internal and external customers and responding to payroll-related inquiries
- Understanding and applying the collective bargaining agreement, including pay practices, benefits, leave, and discharge language
- Processing weekly and biweekly payroll as per requirements.
- Data entry experience
- Payroll Experience- Understands full cycle
- Worked in a fast-paced environment and is detail oriented
- Manufacturing payroll experience a plus
- UKG software experience- a plus
