What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Specialist position at Robert Half?
We are excited to partner with one of our clients to find an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll & Compliance Analyst to join their growing team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be the accurate and timely processing of payroll across multiple company codes, with a strong emphasis on state and local tax compliance. You’ll ensure proper calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions, while managing all required tax withholdings, filings, and reconciliations for multiple jurisdictions. A key part of your role will include monitoring compliance with ever-changing federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including year-end reporting requirements. You’ll also manage payroll data integrity, process new permanent, termination, and leave entries, and assist with benefit deduction reconciliations and reporting. In addition, you’ll support the HR and Finance teams with compensation-related reporting and ensure alignment with company policies and labor laws. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of multi-state payroll tax compliance, advanced skills in ADP and Excel, and a track record of maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in fast-paced environments.
