Job Title: Performance Test Engineer

Location: Newark, NJ 2 days a week.

We are seeking a motivated Performance Test Engineer who thrives in a dynamic, challenging professional environment and is looking to drive growth by supporting an Investor-Owned Utility client headquartered in New Jersey.

This role involves the complete technology lifecycle and includes responsibilities such as design, configuration, development, testing, and support of solutions to meet business or technology requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with Analysts, Product Managers, and various business teams to design and implement technical solutions using LoadRunner and related analytics tools.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze Requirements: Analyze business technology requirements and translate them into technical designs for performance technology test strategies while adhering to architectural standards and organizational policies.
• Performance Testing: Design, configure, develop, document, and test performance strategies using LoadRunner tools and best practices.
• Problem Solving: Identify opportunities for optimization across the organization’s infrastructure and provide recommendations.
• Development: Develop performance solutions to enhance service capabilities, reduce testing time, and troubleshoot and script using coding skills such as Python, Java, and VB Script.
• Frameworks & Best Practices: Develop, implement, and oversee Performance-Architected Framework best practices, policies, and procedures.
• Testing Coordination: Manage testing schedules, collaborating with development teams and test leads to ensure consistent test metrics are captured and reported.
• Release Management: Provide support to the release management team and communicate Go/No-Go decisions for performance testing.

Required Education & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Technology Management, or a related field (additional years of experience may compensate for the degree).
• Technical Skills:
• 3 years of experience with LoadRunner VuGen Test scripting, execution, diagnosing, and reporting.
• Proficient in scripting with Python, Java, LoadRunner Enterprise (LRE) scripting, and VB Script.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Project and test management applications such as ServiceNow, HP Quality Center, HP ALM, or JIRA Xray (or other Gartner-recognized tools).
• Experience:
• Strong knowledge of performance testing, systems analysis, coding, quality control, and test management.
• Proficient understanding of IT project management methodologies.
• Excellent grasp of technical and business challenges in domains such as Applications, Infrastructure Architecture, Systems Development, Product or Project Management, and Production Support.

Preferred Experience & Certifications:

• Certifications: CTFL or other testing certifications, ISTQB.
