As a Plant Controller, you will play a critical role in managing all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition. As a Plant Controller, you will play a critical role in managing all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition. You will also be tasked with preparing monthly financial statements and operational reports, as well as providing financial leadership across various departments. This role is integral in driving business decisions and ensuring the financial integrity of the plant.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition operations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and operational reports.
- Analyze variances and communicate explanations to management, along with recommended actions.
- Forecast income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows for the plant.
- Collaborate across organizational boundaries at all levels to achieve plant or corporate objectives.
- Train new staff and lead continued detail oriented development of the existing team.
- Share best practices across the global finance team, including process improvements, financial modeling, and procedural changes.
- Provide proactive consultation, interpretation, and education of complex financial and operational matters to departmental leaders to drive business decisions.
- Collaborate with General Manager, Plant accountants, and senior management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, and lead the development of complex analysis.
- Monitor and implement plant internal controls in conjunction with corporate policies to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks.
- Ensure proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and local statutory requirements.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience of 7 or more years in a Plant Controller role or similar.
- Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems.
- Proven ability in preparing and managing Annual Budget.
- Extensive experience in conducting Auditing processes.
- Familiarity with Budget Processes and implementation.
- Knowledge and experience in using SyteLine ERP.
- Expertise in Cost Accounting procedures and principles.
- Understanding and application of GAAP Accounting standards.
- Prior experience in a Manufacturing environment is essential.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Advanced degree or detail oriented certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
