We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Procurement Specialist in SALINE, Michigan. This role is crucial within our service industry team, where you will support the purchasing department in a variety of ways. The position requires excellent communication and analytical skills as well as the ability to handle a large volume of requests. Ideally this person will have previous purchasing or procurement experience and a desire to advance their career. This role is 100% onsite in Saline MI and pays up to $23/hr.
Primary responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Handling large volume of requests for items to be sourced/quoted.
- Communicating with the customer as an integrated supplier to ensure that their expectations are met.
- Effectively communicating with vendors and suppliers to coordinate quoting process including:
- Sourcing items to best supplier(s)
- Negotiating best price/lead time
- Negotiation of new vendor terms
- Expediting priority requests as determined by the customer and on-site personnel
- Analysis or data to pursue price/margin improvements
- Project management of large customer bid opportunities
