We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a IT Program Manager in the heart of the vibrant city of Portland. This role is in a fast-paced industry that demands strategic planning, attention to detail, and strong leadership skills. As a Program Manager, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of managing large-scale projects, supervising project teams, and maintaining vendor relationships among other tasks.
Responsibilities:
Lead complex strategic projects, ensuring their successful completion.
Manage the project team, which includes other project managers and external resources.
Develop project plans, define the scope, set timelines, and deliverables using PMO tools and templates.
Identify, manage, and resolve inter-project dependencies, collaborating with other project managers and stakeholders.
Conduct comprehensive analyses to estimate and track project costs and budgets.
Develop and maintain the project operating model, working closely with key stakeholders and steering committees.
Determine resource requirements and negotiate their availability with resource managers.
Manage vendor relationships to align vendor schedules, costs, and deliverables with the overall project plan.
Create, maintain, and update the project risk log, resolving project issues and escalating as necessary.
Oversee project change control and adhere to existing policies.
Ensure all project-related documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date.
Requirements
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are required for this role.
Proficiency in documentation and planning is essential.
Familiarity with various policy and budget processes is needed.
Experience in project management is expected.
