Job Title: Property Accountant
Job Description:
To perform the customary duties and obligations of a corporate accountant, which shall consist of, but not be limited to:
- All tasks required in maintaining the general ledger and its related systems for various commercial operating and development properties owned including:
- Posting of journal entries
- Analyzing general ledger accounts
- Reviewing accounts payable invoice coding
- Reviewing and collecting accounts receivable
- Reconciling intercompany accounts
- Monthly/Annual closings
- Preparation of financial statements
- All tasks required in maintaining the property management system, to include setting up properties, entering tenant leases, sales and insurance information, as well as recording lease charges.
- Assisting in the preparation of annual corporate and real estate property budgets;
- Submitting financial statements to lenders and project partners and acting as a liaison between such parties
- Ensuring all loan reporting requirements are met
- Preparing and analyzing weekly/monthly cash flow reports and submitting to the partners;
- Preparing capital requests for partners based on forecasted cash requirements;
- Maintaining fixed asset system for each property which includes adding, disposing and depreciating assets
- Preparing and analyzing monthly management reports;
- Assisting in the preparation and coordination of the annual reviews with outside accountants;
- Reviewing annual tax returns
- Preparing and coordinating monthly construction draws for submission to lenders;
- Preparing annual reconciliation’s of tenant escrow accounts for common area maintenance, property tax and insurance
- Reviewing and applying tenant lease provisions to enable timely and accurate billing of reimbursable expenses and construction contributions
- Special projects and other tasks as required
- Working cooperatively with other employees and management to efficiently and effectively perform your job duties and contribute as part of the overall team.
Qualifications:
Candidate should have BS/BA in Accounting with 5 years of general ledger accounting experience. Successful candidate will be an independent worker and team player with strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Industry experience including knowledge of Yardi is a strong plus.
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
