What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales & Use Tax Accountant position at Robert Half?
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sales & Use Tax Accountant in the Healthcare industry located in Birmingham, Alabama. In this role, you will be tasked with handling various tax-related responsibilities, including determining and filing use tax liability, working closely with third-party compliance providers and performing in-depth data analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed analysis and review of capital acquisitions and supply purchases on a monthly basis
• Ensure all sales/use tax registrations are up-to-date and handle any related notices
• Facilitate timely review of returns prepared by engaged vendors
• Prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and other analyses to support tax accruals
• Provide assistance in Transaction Tax audits and manage related correspondence
• Take part in special projects and contribute to process improvement initiatives
• Use your skills in Corporate Tax Compliance, Sales & Use Tax, Vertex Sales & Use Tax, and Transaction tax to perform your duties efficiently.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
- 4 years of transaction tax compliance experience preferred
- Experience in healthcare industry preferred
- Expert in Microsoft applications
- Advanced knowledge of Excel functions
- PeopleSoft experience preferred
- Vertex tax calculation software a plus
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
