Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and filing of quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) reports, as well as other regulatory filings, in compliance with SEC requirements.
- Prepare and review financial statements, footnote disclosures, and MD&A sections to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Stay current on updates to U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, assess their impact on the company, and provide recommendations for compliance.
- Support SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance efforts, ensure proper documentation of processes, and assist with internal and external audits related to financial reporting.
- Partner with legal, investor relations, and other internal departments to ensure consistent and accurate external financial communications.
- Assist with complex accounting matters, including revenue recognition, leases, and other technical topics, to ensure proper application of standards.
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the financial reporting process through technology adoption, automation, and workflow improvements.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on SEC reporting at a publicly traded company or in public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in financial reporting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills for the preparation and presentation of high-quality reports and communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in or with Big 4 public accounting firms.
- Expertise in technical accounting research and application.
- Familiarity with investor relations and earnings release processes in a public company environment.
