Our client, a reputable and impactful non-profit, is in need for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team here in Tucson! This is a long-term contract position suited for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual who excels in financial reporting, compliance, and staff management. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial operations while fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.Responsibilities:• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and capital spending reports.• Develop schedules and documentation to support audits, including annual financial audits, single audits, 401K audits, and Form 990 tax returns.• Assist in creating the annual operating budget and provide insights to improve financial planning.• Ensure consistent transaction coding in the financial system, adhering to generally accepted accounting principles.• Monitor compliance with federal and state regulations, implementing internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.• Supervise, mentor, and train team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.• Coordinate cross-training initiatives within the department to ensure operational continuity during staff absences.• Collaborate effectively with key management, staff, and volunteers to support organizational goals.• Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team.
