Senior Accountant

Job Overview:

Our client, a well-established and reputable company located in Central Kentucky, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting skills and a proactive approach to financial management.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
• Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and resolving any discrepancies.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to support management decision-making.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Prepare and file tax returns, including sales tax, payroll tax, and business taxes.
• Support the preparation for external audits, collaborating with auditors to provide necessary documentation.
• Maintain accounting systems and software, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior management on a regular basis.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as required, ensuring financial compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification a plus).
• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
