Senior Buyer

Robert Half is partnered with a successful organization in the Plainsboro, NJ area that is looking for a Sr. Buyer/Planner. We are looking for 5 years of experience in Supply Chain/Production specifically in Buying and planning.

*onsite position - only local candidates will be considered

Material & Production Planning

• Converting requisitions to purchase orders and updating as needed.
• Issue and track daily orders to suppliers; expedite and resolve delivery issues.
• Coordinate international shipments and ensure compliance with import procedures.
• Support new product launches, including ERP master data creation and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate planning data and oversee process order management.
• Ensure inventory availability to support production schedules; minimize material write-offs through effective change control.

Vendor Management & Sourcing

• Build strong supplier relationships, source new/alternate materials, and onboard new vendors.
• Provide forecasts, manage purchase order issues, and support vendor audits and quality resolution.
• Handle returns, credits, and non-conforming materials in partnership with the Quality team.
• Drive supplier performance improvements and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Inventory Management

• Monitor inventory levels and resolve variances to ensure supply continuity.
• Lead Material Review Board and non-conforming materials discussions.
• Ensure materials are received, tested, and released in line with requirements.
